Guidelines for Applicants:
(Kindly observe the following when preparing
the proposal:)

White, 8.5 x 11 paper with a font size no smaller
than 12 points and no less than .50 inch
left and right margins.

Single sided printing only please.

Do not send proposal in a binder or folder.

Faxed proposals are not acceptable.

Attach only the extra materials requested in
the application. Any additional supporting
materials included will be discarded.

Proposal should be sent to the proper Monsanto
Contact in your area, not the home office.

Grant applications are due no later than
March 1 or September 1 of each year.

Awards are announced in June and December.

A. Introduction
and background of organization
- Briefly describe your organization’s
history and major accomplishments.
- Describe your current programs and activities.
- Who is your constituency?
How are they involved in your work and
how do they benefit from this program
and/or your organization?
- If you are a local organization,
describe your work with the community.
If you are a state, regional, or
national organization, describe your work
with local groups.
B. Describe your request
(incorporating the following points)
- Problem statement:
problems, needs, issues being addressed.
- Is this project
new, an expansion of an existing program,
or sustaining an ongoing
part of your organization?
- What are the goals of this project
and how do you plan to reach those goals?
- What is your long-term strategy for
funding at the end of our grant period?
C. Evaluation/Recognition
- How would you define success for this project?
How will you know if it has been achieved?
- What types of recognition opportunities
do you plan to pursue?
D. Organizational Structure/Administration
