America's Farmers: Grow Rural Education
Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, helps farmers positively impact their communities by supporting local school districts. The program gives farmers the opportunity to nominate a rural public school district in their community to compete for merit-based grants of either $10,000 or $25,000 to enhance math and/or science education. Since 2011, over $7 million has been awarded to school districts through this program. In 2016, the program will be available in 1,326 counties across 40 states, and grants totaling $2.3 million will be awarded. Farmer nominations for the 2016 program will be accepted from January 1, 2016 to April 1, 2016. Applications open January 1, 2016 and close April 15, 2016 11:59:59pm CT.
